Earp/ Brown possibly Kidderminster
« on: Wednesday 11 June 14 11:47 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace descendants  of John William Earp who served with the RFA (Sergeant 88389) and died in ww1 in 1917. I don't have much information so this is a long shot but I think there could be relatives in the Kidderminster area.

John married Mary James in 1910 and they had 2 daughters. One Evelyn Mary Earp born in Broadway in 1914 who possibly married a Brown in Worcestershire. I haven't been able to trace the other daughter, she was possibly born in Leicestershire before John and Mary moved to Broadway around 1912/13.

This is  a long shot but if anyone recognises the Earp and Brown it would be great to hear from you.

Thanks.

Hmmm! Very strange?

From FreeBMD:

Marriages, September qtr 1938
Newton Abbott district    vol 5b, page 376

Earp, Evelyn M
Brown, Lawrence H

and also

September qtr 1939
Tamworth district    vol 6b, page 1275

Earp, Evelyn M
Brown, Lawrence H

Therer appear to be 4 children born to that marriage, but I can't name them as they may still be alive?

Thanks. Yes those are the 2 marriages I have found but cannot seem to trace any of the potentially alive descendants.

During my research of John Earp I have come across some family letters that I would like to share with the Earp family. Hopefully somebody may see this and get in contract.

James & Mary were married less than 1 year on the 1911 census, and don't have any children with them.

I can't see any other births for them?
And an online tree on Ancestry doesn't have a second daughter, either?

Doing some research on FreeBMD might find other members of the family?

The family moved to Broadway and I have information about them whilst they were living in the village that confirms 2 daughters, one I have traced to be Evelyn Mary Earp born in 1914 in the village.

I haven't been able to trace the other daughter so haven't added it to my Earp family tree on Ancestry (BroadwayWarMemorial).

Will keep looking :-)

From 1st July 1911, the Mother's maiden name was included on the GRO Indexes.

There is only 1 Earp birth, with mmn James between that date and 1920?

No births in early 1911 for Lutterworth district (where they were living in 1911)?!
