Hi Hazelnut

There is record of a James Sangster Wilson living in Clevedon (then Wairoa) New Zealand, in 1858. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church here and was the first man to be married in the first church built in 1858. His son, George was married to a Miss Matheson in the same village in 1877.  He is listed as having been an immigrant from Scotland.

Hope that is some help.

Mark

Hi Mark and welcome to RootsChat  :)

Hazel, I think from other people's trees that James Sangster Wilson was from Banff. Born 4 Feb 1833 in Brownside Croft, Estate of Bogney Parish of Alvah, Banffshire. Parents also from Banff given as George Wilson and Elspet Herd.
