I  have re-read all postings and I can't see reference to Sarah Jane Gilmore. Where is she hiding?

Sarah Jane COLE died 26 Jan 1896. Thought she would be buried at Rookwood Cemetery but could not find her on their website

I wonder why Benjamin wasn't buried with them?  :'(

Is that everyone now?

Sarah Jane COLE must have been born a Catholic. This may be why she chose to be buried in the Catholic Section.  I think around then, and well in to the 20th century, there was a strong division between Catholic and Protestant religions so religious beliefs may have overridden family.

Sarah COLE (GILMORE)'s birth would appear to be around 1839. No GILMORE on NSWBDM but a Sarah GILMER for 1839 with parents William and Jane which may be her misspelt.

I think you have all provided me with enough information to start putting it together. Thanks everyone for your contribution. Have a great New Year.
Cheers

Yes, there was a strong division where death and marriage was concerned. I'm wondering if Benjamin wasn't catholic also.

I don't know if something happened in the family over religion  but I remember as youngsters, if we wanted to really stir Lionel up, we would ask his opinion of the Pope or Catholics. That was enough to get him going on a tirade for about five or ten minutes! Ha Ha. ;D ;D
