Does anyone know where this is?

Hi

I've got a few photos of my nan and pap on holiday and wondered if anyone recognised it.

Any help would be gratefully received

1st photo has an island, on the right-hand side - maybe a clue?

Could it be Steepholm (Bristol Channel)?

There's also a RN Frigate(?) - so it's obviously somewhere with a RN presence, and island close by, steeply shelving beach (looks like shingle?).
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Portsmouth?  ;D

No seriously, I am curious about the stonework in the second photo - there looks to be a tower in the middle distance and behind the wall your Nan is sitting on there appears to be a hollow or ditch.
Third photo taken from up high - perhaps hotel room overlooking the sea.

If you scroll along the third photo, it looks like a fort in the water. Could it be one of the forts built in the Solent?
