Unlisted Births in Stirling

I was at Scotlands People today trying to find dates of birth for my Cowan family and unable to find any of them.  They are all listed on the 1841 Census but no trace of their births and there are 9 of them.  Their parents were William Cowan and Isabella Robertson and family are as follows:-
James     1826
Isabella   1829
Agnes     1831
Margaret 1836
John       1839
Susan     1840
Janet      1841
Elizabeth 1845
Helen      1848
Christina 1851

I'm finding it hard to understand why not one of their births are listed.  Can anyone suggest anything??  ???

Hi

As the births are pre Statutory Registration you are looking for Church records of their christenings, do you know what denomination they are?
The OPRs on Scotlandspeople (SP) are the Parish Registers of the Church of Scotland, SP does have Catholic Parish Registers (CPR) in a different section but not other denominations.
Familysearch.org are primarily indexes to Church of Scotland registers, apart from a small number of churches they do not have indexes to other denominations.
