Hughes Marriage 1871
« on: Friday 06 March 09 08:55 GMT (UK) »
I have found the marriage of William Hughes to Margaret Hughes on the northwalesbmd site.
they are listed as being married at St Myllin,Llanfyllin in 1871.
Where would I find their parents (apart from sending off for the certificate)
I can't find a father for Margaret on any census but her mother may be Diana/Dinah Hughes who is on the censuses as being deaf and dumb from birth.

The only sure way is to obtain the certificate - all else is guesswork, especially with a name that appears frequently.

William Hughes, son of  John Hughes, actually married Sarah Ellis, dau of David Ellis.

Margaret may have been his sister. She married the other person on the index, David Griffiths.

Further to my previous post, I don't think William and Margaret were related.

William and Sarah in 1871:-

John Hughes, head, Timber Haulier, 58 born Ludlow, Shropshire
Mary Hughes, wife, 67 born Ripsford, Worcestershire
William Hughes, son, 23 born Ripsford, Worcestershire
Sarah Hughes, dau-in-law, 26 born Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire
