This is the label on an old sea-chest  my daughter in law  has and she would like to know if anyone can decipher the name for her please?

Not sure but I think it might be M V Wairangi

I've just looked it up and there was a ship of that name.  :-\  This particular name looks as if it has been painted by freehand doesn't it.  Here's a little bit about the ship.
