A list of Irish soldiers executed in WW1 simply says:

Samuel McBride: 5009 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles, executed on
Thursday, Dec. 7, 1916. Believed to be from Ireland. [Number 8225 is
also attributed to this man].
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Lots of Samuel McBrides in Ireland in census, Ulster Covenant, etc.

Have you searched for him in Scotland?

"SAMUEL McBRIDE - Address when he joined: 6, Oxford Lane, Glasgow."

Hi,
The Samuel McBride identified by Aghadowey enlisted in the Antrim Militia as a gunner in 1892 at the age of 21. He stated that he was a driller with Harland and Wolfe and that he was born in Ballymacarret in Co. Down. His address at that time was also Ballymacarret, 54 Constance Street.

Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

It helps if you give us ALL the information you know. The age would have been very helpful earlier to eliminate lots of the Samuel McBride's I looked at.

Have you checked for him in 1901 and 1911 Irish census yet?

If Samuel Mcbride had the number 8225 had he joined before ww1 and could he have been in Burma in 1911 with the Royal Irish Rifles my granda was in Burma and his number was 8261  and then in ww1 2/8261
