Just in case you have a Kiwi ancestor that served in WW1, and was stationed at Trentham, there is a WW1 Centennial exhibition coming up soon at Expressions in Upper Hutt. From 16th August to October 3rd, admission is free. Here is the link, that in itself is great.

Also, as part of this great exhibition, there will be a concert, held at Genesis Theatre, at Expressions. It is the WW1 Centennial Concert for Trentham Army Camp. This is to be held on Sunday 14 September at 2pm. I am part of a group that is taking part in this concert. There will be brass bands, singing of songs from WW1, some of which were written by the soldiers themselves, and much much more. It's going to be a very special concert!!
Another wee note, Upper Hutt Library has some great online info, photos etc in their Heritage collection online at

Cheers
