Lunatic Asylum - Suggestions?
« on: Sunday 24 August 14 22:46 BST (UK) »

Hi all,

If a working class person living in Homerton in the 1920s/1930s and had a nervous breakdown, which asylum might they be sent to? The most local one, out to Colney Hatch, or further beyond still?

Many thanks,

~ Jacobea

They may  have  gone to  Claybury   which was   in Woodford  Green  ,  not that  far  from Homerton  ,
