John Lamont Ellen Reid Lamont portglenone to Lanarkshire

Hi am looking to find descendants of JohnLamont and his wife Ellen. They were both born in Ballymena  area of co antrim. Ellen was born Ellen Reid 7th June 1866 and John was born in 1863 probably in the portglenone area on Co.Antrim. they married on 12th November 1885 in 3rd Portglenone Presbyterian Church. They had one daughter Catherine born 24th August 1886 at Drumcon Rasharkin just a few miles from portglenone. John was the son of William Lamont born 1831 and a Matty Ann Luke born 1832. Johns parents lived at Drumcon at the time of the 1901 census. Their name is spelt Lemont by mistake. John Lamont and Ellen are in the 1891 Scottish census in bothwell Lanarkshire with their daughter Catherine an another daughter Maggie. After that I have no information. Anything else is welcome thanks

I think the age probably is 12. I also wonder if the reids boarding with them were related to Ellen as she was Reid as maiden name. Would be interested to see what happened to them after 1901. If the girls married or anything. Thanks so far

The 1911 Scottish census is only available online via Scotland's People (pay pre view for everyone) but credits are not that expensive so you should be able to search for the family yourself.

The lair was purchased by John Lamont (coalminer) 9 Doctors Land Bellshill.

I think this might be your family.
