Susan Ann Walker
« on: Monday 15 September 14 20:43 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace what happened to Susan Walker born 23 June 1889 in Glasgow, Scotland.

I know she sailed from Glasgow 28 Sept 1912 to New York arriving 6 Oct 1912.
She returned back to Scotland a couple of times where she stayed with her brother William.

In 1920 she was a servant for Dr Nathan Garmsey in Kinderhook.

She married James Paton in 1924 and they moved to Albany.

They both travelled back to Scotland at least twice and the last time June 1933 they returned to Kinderhook.

After that I cannot find anything else. I know James was a lot older than Susan but I can't find a death for either of them.

I have a feeling that Susans brother William may have also moved to the US after Sept 1933 but I can't find anything to confirm this.

I would be grateful if someone could help break down the brick walls I am facing.

Hi,

There is also a UK Return Passenger List August 1933 - Susan (aged 44 years) and James (65 years) New York to Glasgow on the Tuscania.

Ancestry. They were going to 39 Ashgrove Street. Dalmarnock. Country of intended future residence was Scotland.

Thanks for that Sandra, I have now found the death of both James and Susan. James died 1943 and Susan the year after. Her brother William registered the death of Susan so that puts pay to the families thought that he went to the US after Sept 1933.

You're very welcome. Pleased you found them - never noticed the country of future residence until I took a second look.
