;)  How ya all doing..   Well I'm no futher since last April.. Been a long weekend  ;D

I now have Frederick William (the 2nd's) birth cert,  after the numbers were missing on the GRO index.

I am still trying to find Frederick (the 1st's) marriage, so I can get the GRO index to obtain the marriage certificate. The date should be 1891-1901.

   Son, Frederick William 2nd - born 9th November 1893,
    Birthplace- North Town, Maidenhead, Cookham.
Father-Frederick Cox,  Mother-  Margaret Cox,  formerly HOWE.

Thanks again for your trouble.     :-[    Lesanne.

Hi Lesanne

freebmd do not appear to have a marriage transcribed for this couple, so I am afraid you will have to look on the pay-per-view sites for the marriage.  Once you have it though, you will be away!

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)

 Hi Arranroots,
Thank you for your time again. Tell me, do FreeBMD, Ancestry,LDS, etc all have the same material. As I have been wading through this past 6 months, trying to find the birth number, I notice bits and pieces are missing.

   :D  Hello All,   :D
I now have the birth certificate of Frederick Cox,
                               born 1869 29 December.  Ewell.    Reg. 1870 Feb 1st.

:-\  Please tell me how can I be sure, he is the father of Frederick William Cox.
                   born 1893 North Town, Maidenhead.

:-[  Would someone be kind enough to check the 1881 in Cookham
(North Town, Maidenhead) for Frederick COCKS b1869/70.  ???

A really big thank you for any other thoughts for this.  Lesanne.  :)

You can check it yourself free at:

http://www.familysearch.org

Frederick is there, born 1869, one of 7 children but not born Ewell.

There is another Frederick shown as born Epsom in 1870 - in Abingdon.

Take your pick!

 :-\  Awww...Nell, that's the trouble. I don't know which one to pick.  :D
I have several birth certs. I tried for death certs, hoping for a clue, but they sent me a refund of money on that idea.  :-[

I just don't know which way to go for the marriage.  ::) The more I look at it. You told me once about the wood for the tree's... I reckon they are growing a giant Redwood forest round Maidenhead.   ;D

Thanks though Nell for your time. If you can think of another idea or how I can get the marriage ref. I would really appreciate it.

Difficult - at least you have a choice.

Presumably you've looked at the names the next generation used?  Similar to one family but not the other?  Occupations - or are they both similar?  How far afield do each of these families wander?  Is there a will - even apparently humble people left them.  Any property records?  Any chance of a death notice in the paper?

Only thoughts.  I have two lost marriages in the "too hard to solve at present" category - they've been there for over 10 years despite several attempts at it.  Never mind - other fish in the sea, waiting to be caught!
