My granfather Hasson was from Co. Derry & believe he had cousins called Mullan/Mullin.

Hi,
   Hasson and Mullan/Mullin are very common names in Co. Londonderry.

No I have not found any connection yet.
My g.grand mother was Bridget Hassen born c.1863. Her parent's were John Hassen and Catherine Mullen. Variant spellings very likely as Bridget could not read or write hen she arrived in NZ in 1882.
Her father was a farmer on her marriage cert.
Does your grandfather know of any ancestors  who emigrated to New Zealand.
