George Jones 1821 and Maria - 1861 census

Hello

According to the 1861 census, my ancestor George Jones, born 1821 and his wife Maria, born 1823 were living in Aston with their children, Julia, Henry (my ancestor), Joseph, Edward, Jane and Walter.

I was wondering if someone could help me find the parents of George Jones, a marriage for George and Maria, death dates and possible marriages for their children.

I know this is asking a lot, but I appreciate any assistance in the matter.

With a surname like Jones you really are asking for too much here.

The ages given in 1861 for George and Maria vary from what is given on the 1851 - on that one George is shown as b.1816 Aston and Maria b.1815 Aston!!   In 1871 it is 1817 and 1821.  That complicates finding their baptisms ever more.

You will need to get the birth certificate of one of their children to establish Maria's maiden name and then look for a likely marriage.

Can only find baptisms for 2 of their children - Edward bp.1/2/1854 and Walter b.21/12/1859, bp.23/4/1861 both at St. Matthew, Duddeston, Birmingham.

Hi

I have received the birth certificate of Walter Jones, George and Maria's son, born in 1860 in Aston.

It gives the maiden name of Maria as Congrave, however there is no marriage for a George Jones and Maria Congrave or Congreave

I can't see a birth or marriage for Maria & can't see her pre 1851 either.
She may have been born under a different name.

I was pondering that she was born under a different name, but it doesn't give any indication on her childrens birth certificates
