hi
have found this info so far according to commonwealth war grave details for William Arthur in addition to what you already have , is that he was part of hms president 111  president 111 was an accounting land based establishment for defensively equipped merchant ships , in effect he was probably part of a gun crew on a merchant vessel and his pay came through president 111 .
what you now need is to apply for w arthurs service record hopefully it will have the ship or ships names he served on , with a ships name it shouldn,t be difficult to find out where it was in june 41 when he was killed .go to www.veterns-uk.info  it tells you all about applying .

hi billy
just did a google search for baron Carnegie and at least 4 good sites come up 2 with a pic of the ship another giving rundown on when and where she was built and to my mind the best one is a diving site with pics of her as she is now , she carried a 4 inch gun placed midway on her deck .
all you need to go with all this is his service record then you have it all sewn up .
