I thought i found a match to Robert O'Carroll's marriage with a Mary Brian in 1917 now Brian could be a mistranscription of Brien or O'Brien, there are births showing from the 1930s when the mothers surname is shown on the birth index as O'Brien including a Michael L O'Carroll in 1935 ,Glasnevin also shows a burial in
2002 of a 68 yr old Michael O'Carroll from Carnlough Road.

I just though this was interesting -

Robert Carroll was born at Bonnis Lane

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/1f302b0014629

There was also this Michael Carroll whose wife was from Bonnis Lane

http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/e118710004631

It might be nothing but MIGHT be worth keeping on file !

Tara

Does an address of Hope St, Glasgow mean any thing to you as i found a Carroll on the 1922 Irish Army census from that address might be the other brother? though he did give his mother Mrs E Carroll as next of kin.
Cant seem to find him again as there are so many Carrolls listed.

I've been away for the last few days but these are all amazing finds and so helpful! I'm going to look through all the links properly later on but I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. Dathai, I don't think the Hope St address is any of them although they did live near that area in Glasgow.
