Hello...and Happy New Year !!
I would be very interested to see the headstone at Chapelton, with the names Shearer, Park and Campbell.  I recently visited Glassford Cemetery but could not find anything relative to my tree. I hadn't been aware that there is also a Burial Ground at Chapelton. My ancestors were Gavin Shearer  (c1800 - c1885 ) and his wife Catherine Park (c1824 - c1890).
Thanking you in advance  :)

Hello Isobel, Happy New Year and welcome to Rootschat.

Beginners luck - you have a gravestone with two pre-1855 dates of birth!

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

There are 2 stones on this plot, the newer one, erected in 1909, replaces the one erected in 1826.

The newer one is easy to read. The older one is badly eroded and this is my version of it -

"1826  This stone was erected by Angus Fergus in Shawton and Agness Bulloch his wife and is the burial place of their family.
(unreadable Christian name) Fergus died (. . . ) October 1815 aged (4) months.
John Fergus died 13th March 1821 aged 4 months.
Willm Fergus died 28th April 1825 aged 6 (years)".

That's the best I can make of it.
