Three little girls visiting their grandparents house c1920
« on: Tuesday 19 August 14 04:02 BST (UK) »

The photo is not very good quality, it was scanned from the original which seemed a bit out of focus.

If it could be cleaned up a little with a dash of colour added it might add some life to the photo.  The 3 girls were from a family of 8 girls.

Even a dash of colour to the flowers on the creeper/vine might liven it up, and a bit of a paint job could make a difference to the house.

Thanks and Kind Regards,  Aussielass   :) :)

Sorry but I can't do colouring - bit of a clean up though..

This house looks very like my grandmothers - but in reverse!   :D  Her verandah was going the other way.

Had the one in the middle been playing in the dirt - or was her dress that design?

Hi Wiggy, thanks for the clean, yes, I think there were a lot of weatherboard homes very much like that in the early 1900's in Australia.   :D    Unfortunately the photo isn't clean enough to determine whether the dress was dirty or whether it was the pattern.  I think perhaps it was a floral design!   :) :)  Once again, many thanks for the clean!   Kind Regards,  Aussielass  :) :)

When I was cleaning it, I zoomed in and thought it was dirty!    ;D  However you could well be right - the clean strip round the bottom is very regular isn't it!  ;)

 - I think it is a lovely photo - especially if she is absolutely filthy, having had a really good time visiting Gran!!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I was inspired to do a clean-up also as my Grandmother had a house the same as that in Malvern,  ;D the trims were dark green & it was the same aspect but not the same weatherboards,
it had large blocks in a brick like pattern.

Thanks for the clean up Yvonne, funnily enough the house still stands, although it is no longer in the family.  It has been extensively renovated and a whole new generation of people (almost a century after the house would have been originally built) have moved into the area with young families. :) :)  Once again, thanks for the lovely clean up!  Kind Regards, Aussielass  :D

Ours was still standing ten years ago, the front lawn was deeper than yours & a taller front fence had been built,  ::)

One with a bit of colour. I didn't know what colour to do the clapboards, so just left them as they were.
