I believe that my grandfather Walter Parsons was born in this house in Gold Street Stalbridge in 1883.
Can anyone throw any light on the inscription on the front of the house please?  BSM or SBM 1834.

Is it Knapp House?
That is listed as having an insurance plaque on the wall.
Even if it isn't that house could that be the answer anyway?

No, Knapp House is opposite the site in question. Not sure about Insurance plaques but I will follow up. Maybe this calls for a trip in the country one fine sunny day.
