Anyone heard of Drummoy?
« on: Monday 26 May 14 14:28 BST (UK) »
It is listed as a the place of residence of the groom on a marriage cert. The marriage took place in Dungannon, Tyrone in 1866. I Googled Drummoy but only find a couple of mentions of one in Tyrone and can't see where it was located.  The groom was born in Mayo but I don't see a Drummoy there, only in Cavan.

Thank you.

There is a townland called Drummoy in County Cavan in the civil parish of Annagh, Barony of Tullygarvey.

There's a Drumay in Clonfeacle Parish. Part of the Dungannon registration district and not far from Dungannon itself. I know I've seen it spelled Drummay so Drummoy seems entirely possible.

If you can post the full details, I might be able to advise on if it's a likely fit.

The following link has two historical references to the townland of Drumay being "Dromoye":

I apologise for the late reply. The week ran away with me. Below is the certificate. I believe the groom's place of residence is Drummoy?

Thank you.
