Hi all...
A thread on the NZ board has turned up a possible New York connection. Would appreciate any general advice and thoughts :-)
The New York connection starts from around about reply #23
John SMITH married Mary SUISTED - Reply #23http://www.rootschat.com/links/01981/---
We think Frederich SEASTEDT and Adolph SESTUT are one and the same person who is mentioned twice in the 1870 census.
1870 US Census - 29th June 1870
5th Election District of the 15th Ward, New York City

Adolph Frederich SEASTEDT (possible surname variations are SESTUT, SJÖSTEDT and SUISTED)
Index to Marriages and Deaths in the New York Herald: 1835-1855
STEVENS, Eliza Spouse : SEASTEDT, Adolf Fred
Date/Year of Marriage : Nov 27, 1852
Location : New York City
County : New YorkI think Adolph and his wife Eliza are buried at Green-Wood cemetery in New York
Eliza SEASTEDT d.31 Dec 1873, Adolph F SEASTEDT d.18 Mar 1879http://www.green-wood.com/burial_search/Ancestry has Adolph F SEASTEDT naturalised on 29 Jun 1863.
Google mentions Eliza's Will in US case law as "Thompson v. Seasted 1875"

Would love to know what became of the two Swedish-born children mentioned as living with Adolph and Eliza.
Tyek/Tycko ROSE b.1851 and Ellen ROSE b.1856-ish.
Their surnames may have been americanized from ROOS to ROSE.
It may be Ellen arriving into New York on the passenger list mentioned in Reply #21 on the original NZ board thread.
Ellen seems to have had a birthday between the June and December enumerations.
Also anything on Adolph or the children which might link them back to a specific area in Sweden would be really helpful.
All advice welcome and appreciated :-)
Regards
