The above m. circa 1831, Betsy Brown, William is one of my brick walls, but from another researcher of Lockett's this was discovered. a petition
To the Right Honourable Lord Viscount Melbourne His Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for the Home Department. The humble petitioner of Martha Lockett of No1 Bankside, Bear Gardens, Southwark, humbly ? that the petitioner is a widow sixty years of age and that her son William Lockett was transported upwards of three years (for 7 years) back from the Manchester Assizes? on supposition that he stole half a crown from a person in the lock life house where he was confined for an assault. Your petitioners husband has been dead upwards of sixteen years together with eight other children, her son was her only support and as he has been confined upwards of three years and his conduct such as to be named gangs man she therefore humbly prays your Lordship may be graciously pleaded to take her age and unfortunate case into your humane consideration and grant an order for his release and ?? thereby confer our everlasting gratitude on a fond affectionate mother. Martha Lockett 1st August 1832.

From this if i'm reading it correctly, Williams father died appro 15 years before 1832, ie. c 1817
His mother, Martha the petitioner is a widower of "sixty years of age", ie. 1832 - 60 = b. 1772
Whats the chances of finding a Lockett that married a Martha from the above info ?
