I really am hoping someone can help me in my research of my g-g-grandparents William Willis and Esther Leach both born about 1798/1799 in Wexford County and most probably in Enniscorthy. I know very little about William Willis's parents or whether he had siblings. Esther Leach (sometimes spelled Leech) was the daughter of Willliam Leach (b. ~ 1750 in Enniscorthy) and Ann Edwards (b. 6/25/1752 in Wicklow). I have been told that Esther's father, Willliam Leach, died at the Battle of Vinegar Hill in 1798 but have not been able to verify that fact. I have also seen a record of a William Willis killed at Vinegar Hill but I do not know if this is my William's father. William Willis and Esther Leach immigrated to Beckwith, Lanark County, Ontario, Canada ~ 1819/1820, but I have been unable to determine if they married in Ireland and travelled as a couple or their families travelled seperately arriving in Canada about the same time and they married in Lanark County. Any information regarding William Willis & Esther Leach such as birth, baptism, marriage, parents, siblings, death, etc. would be so greatly appreciated. I have really hit a "brick wall" with William Willis and so hope that someone can help me. Thank you in advance.
