Place near Llanrwst
« on: Thursday 27 February 14 22:32 GMT (UK) »
Hello everyone...apparently one of my families (Jones, can you believe it? ;D) spent a great deal of time living at Ty Brith Uchaf, or Tybrith Uchaf, near Capel Garmon. They had in 1840 a son Humphrey, who evidently died in 1849, and noted in the PR entry as his place of abode is "Bancog". The handwriting is very precise.

Well, I have tried everything, and I can't find these places :P

Tybrith was a township, and Bancog a road. There are modern references to both, mostly real estate and house prices. But no maps.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Before I am driven to drink? ;D ;D ;D
Cheers,

Oh brills, Gadget, thank you very much indeed. I did try Streetmap, no result :P

I have been to the Fairy Glen. I'd forgotten all about that. And Swallow Falls just up the road toward Capel Curig. Man...I need to get back there... :(

Thanks again Gadget.

Cheers,

We used to go through there on school trips on the way to Anglesey  - Swallow Falls was the first stop - we would all run down to the falls and get wet.

Those maps bring back (mostly) happy memories  :D
