1841
Wisbech Union Workhouse
Ann Tuck 50  ??? stone  and imbecile born out of county
HO107-0079 Folio4 Pg5
Given she was death and dumb she would probably have appeared as an imbecile in a workhouse. Stone could be as in stone death ??? :-\

Hope you find her

Dear, Dear, Dear Bryant,

You've hit a six!

It's so wonderful to see Charles Hart James and Sarah Malyon Tuck together in 1841!

How easy you've made it seem to find this information, when I know the effort, time and determination that's involved............just makes it all the more precious!

Two of Thomas and Emily Malyon Carey's children, Sarah Jane and Charles Tuck Carey, came to Australia from New Zealand around 1867. They met and married their prospective spouses and raised many children in Bowral - the Southern Highlands of NSW..................... They undoubtedly shared a special bond.

I am descended from Sarah Jane and Kathleen (kmdryd) from Charles, Our love of family history and strong desire to record it, enabled us to be introduced............now we share a special bond..............138 years later.

Bryant...............................thankyou.

The 1841 for the
Hundred of Edmonton
Parish of Tottenham
Hamlets are High Cross

If only I could get this CD to work properly

Mary definitely looks promising - maybe Emily's ?sister, ?cousin.

Thomas Tuck, 50 farmer could well be Charles's brother or cousin.

Also William and Hannah Carey and family could well be related - K and I are making rapid progress with the Carey family, have found Thomas's brother George, who along with his family , are recorded on all of the Sittingbourne, Kent censuses from 1861 - 1901. Have posted on the Kent Board.

Bryant...........this is so exciting.................so many possible new members of this once seemingly elusive family.......................!!!

You deserve a cyber :-*

Don't know of any Cambs connections.........But hey, Bryant has uncovered connections in Essex that I had no idea about...........so this looks very much like it could be she.................wow! Jan....................... my thoughts are moving at such a rapid pace....I'm having great difficulty typing all this...................

Poor Ann, (I had a chuckle about your stone description) If this is indeed her, then at least she was rescued from the workhouse -  around 1851, by her Niece, Emily Carey.

Jan, thankyou for this.

I don't think you realise the enormity of finding the record, of whom is almost certainly, our Abramham Tuck.....the same Abraham who has always eluded us!...............What a happy, happy day I'm having!.

I've emailed K................can't wait for her reaction to all the day's amazing news, when she gets home from work!!

hugs

Hi Bryant,

I have made contact with 2 people  who are also researching this family and have identified the above William as my Thomas Carey's cousin. (the one who went to New Zealand)

I have also been told that our Careys descended from French Huguenot, the earliest ancestor being, Pierre Jacob Carey born 1706, who married Marye Du Chattel born 1714, in 1735 Canterbury Kent.

Thomas's father Jean (John) and (the above) William's father, Jacques (James) were brothers, and along with their Grandfather, Samuel Carey were  christened at  Walloon Or Strangers Church, Canterbury Kent.

Apparently this family is huge, with descendants in England, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.....and they are as excited about finding the "lost" Carey descendants, i.e., Kathleen and I in Australia, as we are discovering them.

......Also....Thomas and Emily Carey's grandaughter, Alice, married an English baronet in 1885. and one of the New Zealand descendants maintains contact with this family.

I am ecstatic about this breakthrough..........................and I wanted to thank you Bryant again for all the help you have given me, with many branches of my family, and to share this exciting news.

.....and dear Janan, thanks again for your help finding some of my Tuck ancestors.

In appreciation,

hugs
margaret  :D
