hi on my gggrandas census reports for 1851 it states he was a railway engineer,i have been sitting here for quite a while and i can not seem to find much out about what he did.
do any of you know anywhere i could find out more for myself.
i can not find his birth so i thought id work on his life.
however in 1851 he was in sussex as an engineer and im stuck.
he is a hard nut to crack this one.
(making him all the more interesting i have to say.

See if your local library has a copy of "Was your ancestor a railwayman" by Tom Richards.
