I'm overwhelmed with wonder and gratitude for the kind and generous response from all of you.
As Dawn says" where does Elkins come in". I do feel the story does fit well and I'm not uncomfortable with a Hampshire background for my Elkins ancestors, although it did start much earlier about 1718.
I'm on holiday in Cornwall at the moment but will do my best if the sun stops shining, to think about all your data.
