National Archives help

Is anyone going to the National Archives in the near future who would be willing to do look up for me. I have located a divorce record on th TNA online Catalogue and would like to know if there are any further details than whats on line. The details are a follows:-

Ref: J77/2157/7568, Divorce 1925,  Leah Green Isaacs & Edwin Isaacs.

Hi,

I'm not going to Kew but I have looked at several divorce files there , and ordered some by post.  All the ones I have seen have several sheets of legal papers; some had accocunts from one or both of the parties involved.  One that I ordered by post had not only the legal papers but also a handwritten account from the wife and a copy of the birth certificate of the husband's illegitimate son.  It was well worth the £10 it cost me!   

You can request a quote for the file to be copied and posted to you.

I, too ordered divorce paper from Kew.

Worth every penny!

At the very worst, you will get to see who applied for the divorce and on what grounds!

Thank you for that. I have had a look at the TNA procedure for copy /ordering and may do what you both have advised. I note there is a tick box to copy all documents, would it be advisable to do that?

Have just recieved my estimate from TNA for the divorce document which has come out at £22.

Hi,

The last divorce file I had from them was five years ago; cost around £10, sent 1st class post (in a board reinforced envelope) and 15 sheets printed on A3.
