« on: Monday 06 January 14 16:55 GMT (UK) »
Hello
I have entries for two births in Mass. but is there any way I can find out the parents' names of these two people.
1952 Lawrence,Mass.    stillborn male child   surname Chaff    vol 109 page 184
1954 Lawrence, Mass     Claire Marie             surname Chaff   Vol. 99 page 375

NB I already have the "findagrave" reference for Claire.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Hello Sandra
Many thanks for your speedy reply.  I did wonder if Wm & Irene were the parents of Claire, but there is quite a gap from the previous child to 1949 when Claire was born.  Also there is the still born child in 1952.  Irene also died in 1952, but although the volume numbers are the same as the death of the stillborn child (ie Vol 55) the pages are different.  He is page 275 and she is 291.  I suppose she could have died of complications in childbirth, but I just really wanted to know if there was a way to find out, definitively, the parents' names.
I must have pushed the wrong button to post my earlier one wrongly!!
Many thanks again
Best wishes

Presumably it was the parents who were buried with the daughter who died.
The son William listed on the 1940 census died a few years ago but you may be able to make contact with the other one listed by using whitepages.com, switchboard.com and sites like those.

http://www.whitepages.com/

The daughter mentioned on the 1940 census Mary E Chaff - Born April 13, 1937 in Lawrence, Massachusetts died  October 26th  2001 in  Merrimack, NH.

Mary E. Field - 13 Apr 1937 - 26 Oct 2001 - Last Residence 03076  Pelham, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.

I found a 1936 obituary for Mrs. Annie Mailhot, and one of her surviving children was listed as Mrs. William Chaff of Lawrence, Mass.  That may be Irene.

I think the only definite way to find out what parents are listed is to buy the birth/death certificates.

Just in case they do turn out to be the parents - anc tree gives William Chaff and Irene Mailhot. The tree shows they had 7 children - 4 males and 3 females.
If you do not have access to ancestry, then try the sister site  http://www.mundia.com/gb/.
Register for free and you will be able to view the tree or contact the owner.
