Births September qtr 1886
Edith Mabel Machen  Nottingham  7b 308

1901 census for Notts - all b there except John

John D Machen   43 b Sandford Shropshire
Elizabeth 36
Edith M 14
Ethel  13
Nora A Machen   9
RG13 Piece 3173 Folio 144 Page 38.

I agree with you re: the 1911 entry - clearly the right Edith.  A 1907 marriage doesn't link to the "5yrs married" declaration though.  Looks like it was a short lived marriage.

Hi,

Thanks for the support!

FWIW, Arthur's parents also moved apart.

As noted in both 1901 & 1911 Arthur lived with his mother, Eliza.

His father Herbert Freeman DILKS died at Eyam, Derbys.  in 1923 (see Probate Calendar).

I see Herbert Freeman Dilks is just Herbert Freeman in 1901 and living with the  Pinder family in Yorkshire as a boarder.  He is also Freeman in 1911

Thank You CaroleW,

I have located the 1901 & 1911 census images on Ancestry;
and submitted corrections & extra data.

Hope they will use so others can find him :)
