HELP please! William Calder was born in Liverpool in 1842. Parents John Calder , tailor / painter, born Rothshire? c1809 and Ellen Hawthorn born Ayr. John 's father was named William too. Ellen's father was James Hawthorn, a tailor too.
The family today believe strongly that John Calder came down from Aberdeen.
I have some possible candidates for John Calder such as the one born 1810 Aboyne Aberdeen. Another born 1811 Banchory, Aberdeen. Both entries on Family Search list the mother as Helen Findlay.
Any help tracing the CALDER or HAWTHORN families gratefully appreciated. (Also posted on Ross & Cromarty page)
