Wendy. I have just joined the group and have been researching the local club in the village for a number of years. There were a couple of buck families in the area pre dating 1771. William buck was the landlord of the blacksmiths arms in 1771 and probably earlier. It was an ale house, blacksmiths and a smallholding. Remained in the buck family until 1856 when it appears to have been sold. Details of the transaction are not clear and the trail goes cold until Thomas cass appears dealing with the estate but it is not clear. Who.
