Hi Liz

The address is multi occupancy (a tenement most likely). Also refs to front and back land for some entries.

What names are you looking for?

Liz, no Davidsons showing at 52 Rose Street for 1861  :-\ Any more details on the family (ages, places of birth etc) that might help in finding them in 1861?

Just realised I had the wrong family,,, how about Elizabeth and David Fleming 9 and 13 approx and parents john and Margaret Fleming. Elizabeth's daughter Martha was born there in 1874 when she was married to Joseph . I am trying to find the Flemings family in Scotland but keep getting dead ends

Trying hard to find them with the names you have around those years...but nothing so far  :-\

Only thing I have found so far is the entry for Martha here https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQQ1-XYC https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQQ1-XYC

When and where did Joseph and Elizabeth marry?

They married in Milford Donegal in Ireland and eldest daughter was born at glenalla in Donegal. Joseph was a carpenter, but eventually settled in Liverpool and I have all their kids births after in Liverpool. But I think they have family in Scotland otherwise why go to Glasgow and my granny who was their youngest daughter always said we had Scottish heritage.
I have tried looking for John and Margaret in Ireland but no luck.
thks for your help I am grateful. Scotland and Ireland are so hard to research when you don't have much info.

Liz..just got there now! Some a/try family trees for them. So this is them in 1881:

Joseph Davis 31 b. Ireland
Eliza Davis 28 b. Ireland
Margaret Davis 9 b. Ireland
Martha Davis 6 b. Scotland
Joseph Davis 4 b. Liverpool
James A. Davis 2 b. Liverpool
David Fleming 31 b. Ireland....brother to Eliza?

Address: 10 Oak Leigh West Derby

Not really seeing the Scottish blood there...more Irish, likely why you are struggling with roots?
