Vinal Bungalow Snargate Richard Body

I found that my cousin Richard (Dick) Stephen Body lived in Vinal Bungalow Snargate Kent and could have died there. He previous lived in Hope Farm also known as Jemmet's farm.Have no idea how I came across VINAL and cannot find anything about Hope farm, although Dick in a book said it was over 400 years old and the floor was earthen when they purchased it in 1925 circa. Would have been in Romney Marsh area. Thanks ivor

Hi Dawn No. My cousins were not there then. The family were at Gibbets Oak Farm Tenterden. I must look, can I do it by putting in the farm without knowing who lived there in 1911.

Hi just a token bit of input, I googled Vinal Bungalow, and found a couple of sites that you may like to look into further, it was in Rhee Wall Road, Snargate?

Using old maps.co.uk you can view the village of Snargate over the time period given on the original post. I can see a Vinal bridge mentioned on the map to the north of the village. To the south of the village I can see Hope farm.

Hi Panda. That would have been fantastic, if I could use it. Do not know what coordinates means. Clicked on the map where it look like Snargate should be, but could not find it. Can you advise me what to do please?

Hi Ivor
In the box that says search below find a map on the left hand side type in snargate. This will load the maps for snargate. On the right hand side is a panel with maps in date order. You can view a section of each map free using the online viewer or purchase the actual map for the year you need. Click on the year you wish to view. The 1961 map has a lot of detail and you can view the information I found. You can then work backwards through the time line and locate the information on the earlier maps. The earlier maps contain less information but by using this method you are able to see how the village changes over time.

Hi Dawn. Meant to say I could not get a result for Vinal Bungalow on ancestry or findmypast in the 1911 census. Would have been interested to see who lived there. Anyway thanks to you and Panda. Great information.
