Delia Fitzgibbon
« on: Wednesday 29 January 14 14:46 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for any information about a Delia Mary Fitzgibbon who was born in 1854 in West Riding Galway. I don't know what parish that is but it is more than likely a protestant one. I also would like to get any information about her father Frederick who was a merchant .
                        Thanks..

Do you know what religion the family would have been in Ireland? (Church of Ireland, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc.) My initial impression is that Delia would be more apt to be used for a Catholic girl.

A few mentions of Galway West Riding-

Can't see a Will for a Frederick Fitzgibbon but did find 2 daughters for Thomas & Delia-
Mary Josephine (1877) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGD9-CX3
Henrietta Alice (1880) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGNW-KHK

Marriages usually take place in bride's church so you might find Delia's family there (unless marriage took place in registry office?).

Can't see a death (from 1864 onwards for Frederick) but he might have died before 1864 or elsewhere. What was Delia's residence when she married?
