missing baptism

Hi everyone
ive been searching for the baptism of joseph warburton for a long time now and dont seem to be getting very far.on the 1851 census ho107/2121 it says he's born in hayton notts.i know he had a brother called george who was also born in hayton.joseph married elizabeth hemstock 16 feb 1795 in clarborough. they had abt 10 children who are anne 1795 clarborough, possibly  mary 1797 clarb, sarah 1798 clarb, joseph 1800 clarb, john 1803 ordsall, lucy 1805 e/retford, george 1807 e/retford, william 1809,henry 1811, abraham 1812, and eleanor 1814. he was the lock keeper at corporation wharf e/retford poss until he died in 1856.his brother george's children were called john and ann. george lived to be over 90 and died at sturton,georges poss baptism says 7 jan 1770 hayton, on ancestry it says the father is john but on freereg it says father is william.any help would be much appreciated,thanks

also whats strange about this is a newspaper article from the retford times in 1911 about josephs grandson.in the article it mentions joseph,this is what it says mr joseph warburton came from grimsby as a young man to retford about 10 years after the opening of the chesterfield canal in 1777.he was employed as a carpenter by the canal company,and some years after he improved his position,when he lived in the lockhouse on the opposite side of the corporation wharf.it also says joseph joined a company of riflemen called the 3rd notts local militia raised in retford a hundred years ago(about 1810) by colonel john kirk. Ive looked at baptisms for grimsby but cant find anything. the grimsby bit could be a missprint poss gringley on the hill? this article also mentions his brother george a farmer at littleborough who died at sturton when over 90, but no other siblings.

Joseph's baptism doesn't seem to be on the FHS CD but this could be George;s

There was a Joseph Warburton bapt at Clarborough in 1799 to William and Hannah W. Obviously this is not your Joseph but I wonder if freereg has got this wrong.

There are lots of Warburtons on the Clarborough transcripts, going back to the 1730s; I wonder if the family had originally moved from there to Hayton then back to Clarborough? However there is no baptism for Joseph.

How do you know that Joseph and George were brothers?

thanks annie 65115 for taking time on this. george is mentioned in a newspaper article from 1911 about his grandson. if you look in my posts above you'll see ive quoted from that article about joseph and george.note the bit about grimsby, which i think maybe a missprint.

I did see that; I just wondered if the information was based on anything from around the time that they were born, or whilst they were alive. If it's from something printed 150 years after their birth, it's possible that memories could be inaccurate.

Looking at John Warburton and Hannah Bingham, then yes, it seems likely that John came from Clarborough and Hannah from Hayton, where they married.

the reason im quite positive about george is he didnt die until 1862ish. hes in the 1861 census in sturton where it says he died,his son was the farmer by then.the article is about george warburton who is josephs grandson.he was born in 1836 so would surely know about george the brother of his grandad, hope you follow that ok,did you notice george the brothers kids names,john and ann. poss named after his parents,maybe she went by name of ann instead of hannah. joseph also has those names for his children. did you notice the 10 year gap with the children of john 1858-68 maybe they went elsewhere in that time
