Pierre Robert coat-of-arts seeking information
« on: Wednesday 25 January 12 20:18 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the Pierre Robert cost of arms passed down through my maternal grandmother's family (attached), specifically its origins, to whom it was awarded and any related information.  My research to date has turned up the information on the Robert family found in this link:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jrob/roberts.htm

I am looking for sources for that information and anything else that might tell me more about Pierre Robert and his ancestors.  We understand that he is reported to be the first Huguenot minister in America, having emigrated in 1686 through Charles Town, South Carolina, to a settlement on the Santee River known as French Santee and that he was connected to the French Huguenot church still standing in Charleston, S.C.

If you can send me or guide me to more information, that would be greatly appreciated -- or tell me where to seek such.

I understand that the Welsh motto on the crest should probably read "Calon wrth Galon" (heart to heart) and "Duw a Digon" (God is enough, or God and enough, or God and plenty).

Many thanks.
