Hi Dave, adding to your list I'm afraid, hope you don't mind.

I'm looking for Youngs in Cumbernauld, particularly Robert and Janet born about 1790 and their children; Ann, Robert, Janet, James and William.

If the children died young then I can stop wasting time trying to find them.

Thanks
Hilary

No problem.
I'm nearly at the stage I'll be able to access my books again so hope to reply to everyone soon.
Sorry for delay.

May I too please join the queue?

William Bryson, stone mason, is in the 1841 census, aged 70, with his wife Margaret Findlay and some of their seven children, but he isn't in the 1851 and Margaret is listed as a widow. Margaret died in Falkirk in 1864 and I have marriage and death information for all seven children. Is it possible that your book might record William's date of death?

Thank you in anticipation.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

I'm so embarrassed that I haven't replied to anyone for such a long time.
My apologies.
I'm digging out the book this evening cos it's not too far under the pile of rubble I have.
Over the next 48 hours, I promise I'll look for all of the names.

Sorry to trouble you, Dave.

I have just posted a thread today re Alexandria Old Churchyard lookup and have now just discovered your offer of MI`s for the region.

I am looking for anything on a Duncan McIntyre b 1760 or 1765 in Rhu, or his wife Katrine McIntyre ms Buchanan.

Their son Duncan d 1870 and his wife Helen d 1877 were buried in the family grave 53-81 on the north side of Alexandria Old Churchyard and was wondering if the parents were in the family grave.

Any help would be much appreciated as I now live south of the border in a foreign land.

Cheers! Jim.

Hi
Wondering if you can help. I am trying to get info on marriage of Rachel Mckechnie to Thomas Supple around 1915 to 1920, marriage took place somewhere in Scotland.
Rachel was born in Craighton New Kilpatrick i think around 1893, daughter of Archibald and Margaret McKechnie, this all i have to go on.
Thanks
JK.

I'd appreciate your help!

I have Walter Gay (1805-1885) from Bonhill married to Flora Glen (1805-1843) from Alexandria.

It is possible that Flora's parents were Walter Glen and Jean Allen.

Walter's parents were Walter Gay (b. c. 1778) at Bonhill; and Catherine McFarlane (b. c. 1777).  I it possible that Walter's parents were Walter Gay (b. c. 1760 in Cardross and Janet ?.

Walter (1805-1885) and Flora had children:

Walter Gay (1832-1873) married Isabella Ross (b. 1834)
John Gay, b. 1833
James Gay (b. 1837-1881) married Emma Savage (1841-1918). Both died in Australia.
Alexander Gay, b. 1841.

Any information about any of these people, and their ancestors and descendants, would be greatly appreciated.
