Hi dounde
If you believe that after his divorce he was back living in England, you need to check the death indexes 2007-2014 which can be found on microfiche at 7 locations.
From the GRO website
If you are going to be doing family history research, you will find the GRO Indexes an important resource. A complete set of GRO Indexes are available to view in microfiche format at:
The Library of Birmingham
Bridgend Local and Family History Centre
City of Westminster Archives Centre
Manchester Central Library
Newcastle City Library
Plymouth Central Library and
The British Library
The indexes are available for searching by the public, but the records themselves are not available for scrutiny and information from the entry can only be provided in the form of a certificate. There is no charge for searching the indexes.
As your profile mentions you are in Stourbridge, it might be worth your while taking a day trip to Birmingham Library to check.
If you can't get to Birmingham, I can most probably check the death index next time I go to the British Library.
So if he doesn't appear on the Scottish index or the England & Wales index, you might have to consider:
He is still alive and could be in a nursing home due to his age
He may have left the country after his divorce and could be alive somewhere else or has died overseas.
If he is alive then this topic may be removed in accrordance with our 'no living people' policy.
