Thomas and Sarah smith

Thomas born 1876 lived cullercoats northumberland.  Married Sarah???? from Cumbria born 1882ish cant find her maiden name or marriage details can anyone help.  Thanks Jessy

Can you indicate if you have then together on census (1901)?.
A FULL transcription of the household would be useful.

Its the 1881 census and it shows Thomas 33 Sarah 27 John 5 Elisabeth 3 Thomas 1 and a barbara smith relatives sister/servant.  Thank you  Jessy

sorry it is John thats born 1876.  That means Thomas was born about 1848 and Sarah born 1854

That sounds good but Thomas must have remarried by 28/29  yrs old to this Sarah from cumbria as on the 81 census.  I know Thomas 's parents were called Thomas and Elizabeth so you have confirmed that thank you.  I would love to have more info on Sarah if possible.

I see that Thomas & Sarah name one of their sons JOHNSON, so I wonder if this is his mother's maiden name (and hence his granny on the census for 1871 above)?

Sarah gives her place of birth as Carlisle in 1891 and she has died by 1901, so there are insufficient clues to identify her on earlier censuses.

I would suggest buying a birth cert for Johnson, as his name is quite unusual, and this will give Sarah's maiden name.  That should help you to identify the marriage.
