I have tried that but i didn't check it for her baptise, are the chances of her staying in the same area strong then? I thought maybe they might have moved from somewhere else and came down to Nottingham. It is just a case of assuming that they stayed in the same area when it gets this far back? Its a shame they didn't do the census a lot earlier haha.

Thank you for your help again, i will check on Ruths baptism again :)

I think i might have found "Thos Holmes" in 1841 census, it has his year of bith about 1771 as he was 70 years old. His occupation was Framework Knitter, but his whole name was lined out? It says that he was born in Nottinghamshire, and he was actually still living in Nottinghamshire in 1841 in the Greasley parish. He is living with a lot of other people,

Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew

My information was from the Notts FHS CD, which can be purchased from the Notts Family History Society.

I agree with Trish, the only way to be sure is to buy any certificates.

Hi Andrew,

Don't buy the marriage certificate just yet if you haven't already as they William Bonnigton and Jemima Holmes married at St Mary's Church on 29 Oct 1838, I might be able to get a copy of the church record if its in good condition form Nottingham Archives and if not then you could buy it from the register's office.

Thank you very much for this, this would explain why I cannot find Ruth living with her husband Thomas in the 1841 census. Thank you once again for your help :) any other information is greatly appreciated regarding both familys. :)

Andrew

Thanks k you very much for your help. I will PM you my email address now. I really appear cate you going out of your way to get this information for me. I hope that you have karma and something happens great for you.
You mention about a William galstrap?  Being a witness, do you think it might say galthorpe or something like that as I remember someone previously mentioned that last name for the bonnington side of the family.
Kindest regards
Andrew
