George Lockie b.1848 Kelso, d.1924 Newcastle. M. Mary Blakey 1851 ca.1892 at Newcastle.
George was my wife's maternal 2 or 3 XGt Uncle, they lived in Elswick/Benwell & Newcastle.

I have details up to 1911 of the family, with the kind help of a "RootsChatter".

Is there any descendents still about of the following?
Catherine b.1877 m.John Steele. William b.1879 Joiner. Mary Jane b.1880 m.George Gregson. Eleanor Alexandra b.1883. George b. 1885 Plumber. John Robert b.1888 Art Teacher. Alexander b.1892 Photographer.

Have you looked on freebmd for marriages and deaths for each of these? And then for children?

Yes I have done all that and so far only picked up what I have shown.

You havent mentioned John and Catherines children-  Mary, Annie and Eleanor Emily.

I see George left a Will. Getting a copy of that might give some more details of his offspring.

Hi lizdb,

Thank you for that, I found the Steele side, but as there were so many and couldnt guarantee if they were right didn't put them.  As to marriage, all I got was no matches.
One child to Mary Jane was George 1902 and that was on the 1911 census.

Found Mary in " Familysearch" 1901 Newcastle, bapt Elswick, so the other 2 are a good bet.
Also managed to find Lockie/Spence 1917, if right also 2 children Veronica 1922 & Imelda 1928.

Hi I’ve just seen your post. If it is of any interest my Great Grandad was George Lockie’s brother. He was Robert Lockie of Kelso b1852-1903. My Nana, Elizabeth Lowes Lockie, and most of the family lived in South Benwell.
