Peter,    Many thanks for reply.   Have found them on later census returns but was hoping to find them on an earlier one.  I went through the whole of 1851 didn't find a one.    Was hoping to find one alive and kicking that was related.  Wishful thinking.  Thanks again.   gales

Hi Gales

John Godward and Ann Spencer Marriage 26.11.1839 Worksop St Mary (Priory)

Baptisms:

To John & Ann Abode Norfolk St Occupation Post boy At Worksop St Mary (Priory)

Ann 28.10.1842
Henry 29.9.1844

Henry must have become a Catholic:
Another Baptism at St Barnabus RC Born 11.8.1844 Baptised 4.4.1876

I don't know if you know Nottingham. St Barnabus is in City Centre, Worksop is up in North Notts.

There are lots of BMDs for Godwards in Nottinghamshire although I have not heard the name before and lived here almost all my life.
