I new as a boy of somone in the family being crushed by the buffers of a shunting train,i only just found out that it was my g grandfather Robert Mcdonald, i have looked for his death on Scotland People but no results, he was living in Dalry at the time and must have died just before the birth of his youngest daughter Sarah, this would have been about 1879/80. any sugestions.?.




Family names, MacDonald on my Grandfathers side, McDonald on my Grandmother's side, on my Mothers side her Maiden Name Janet Donald Maxwell, Maxwell, Weir, Scanlon, Donald, Ritchie, Smith, Sharp.

Son of James of Dalry, husband of Janet Keirs.
You want 1880 Kilmaurs where it occurred not Dalry.

1 match comes up in Kilmaurs Ayr as Don suggested for Robert McDonald  :) :)
