I was just browsing.... and I know this is years old, but I have CLARKSON ancesters from Hull including Joseph Clarkson, a builder/carpenter who moved to Greenwich and them immigrated to NZ. If you are still looking, please reply.

Are you still looking. I know of CLARKSONS from Whitby. A large family, boatbuilders and fishermen.

I'm still looking for the wife of my Joseph Clarkson (1737 - 1815), and also where he came from - Clarksons all over the place, unfortunately! This Joseph was originally a carpenter, I believe, and then became a Dock Man in Hull. Unfortunately I can't find a Will for him, or anything that ties him in to a family, although I have - from looking at some apprenticeship records - a couple more possible children before Samuel Clarkson (1783 - 1852). I am hanging out for the FindMyPast yorkshire parish records they have promised which could tell me more. Thanks for replying!
