What an amazing photo  :D Were you actually out there this morning taking this shot? If so, I am so envious!

Can i join in the Lindsay chat, my grandmothers father was a Lindsey from Kirriemuir and lived at Denhead Cottage.  Forman of the Works opposite the cottage.  Had a daughter Jessie who had 2 daughters with the surname Young.  Would love to trace them.  My Granny was the product of a second marriage.  Any help would be great.

Hi Evy ... welcome to the thread!

I'm not sure if we've any Lindsay family in common.

My line goes back to a David Lindsay, Schoolmaster and Parochial Teacher, born abt 1784 at Alyth in Perthshire.  His daughter Jannet married my paternal Great Great Grandfather Alexander Neilson in Blairgowrie, Perthshire in 1836.

There's David's Grand-daughter Hellen Lindsay born abt 1847, who married a Thomson Young born abt 1846, in Maryton near Montrose in 1874.  His parents were Alexander Young and Agnes Smart.

Regards

Hi Chiad,

Based upon this family tree:

http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Lindsay-Descendants-665

Your relative Janet Lindsay is the sister of George Lindsay who is my great great grandfather.
Does this family tree tie in with your research? If so I can pass on various details about the Lindsays who moved to Glasgow and New Zealand.
I am interested to know about- David Lindsay, Schoolmaster and Parochial Teacher, if you have any further information.

Thanks
David
