CROFT FAMILY FROM CORK
« on: Wednesday 03 August 11 10:15 BST (UK) »
Wondered if anyone had any information on the Croft family.  A Dr Jonathan Croft and his wife Ann Filch/Fitch went to Cork at some stage.  Dr Croft was born in London and married there in 1820.  His occupation was Deputy Purveyor to the Army.

Some of his children were born in Ireland - one being James Pitcairn Croft.  Born circa 1833 in Cork.  Another was Faithful Croft, Carrington Croft.

This family arrived in Australia circa 1834.

I was thinking that Jonathan's parents were Robert and Mary from England but his death record states parents unknown.   Dr Croft was born in Deal Kent England on 11 March 1785.

Can anyone help with this enquiry.

Hi - I'm new to this forum so still finding it a bit hard to navigate. Did anyone ever answer this query for you? If not, his parents were Robert & Martha. I have this information (and a lot more) on the Croft family as I am a descendant of Jonathan Croft.
