Yes its suggests that there are family and/or friends in Guildford and Montreal.

Have you searched Google for lithographs by D W Moody?

Yes I have. The ones I found were of New York in the early 1850s and were attributed to David W Moody.

I had always assumed that David Walker Moody died mid to late 1850s as I couldn't find him in the 1860 census in New York and a Gertrude Moody, probably his daughter, was living in an orphanage.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to obtain  a death certificate or access the will (if he left one ) for the David Walker Moody who died in 1870?

Just had another look on Google as it has been several years since I have looked.

There is now a lot more on line about this lithographer. When I first looked I couldn't find his middle name or many examples of his work but I see now his name is being given as David William Moody so I don't think this is my relation unless he decided to use the name William instead of Walker!

Your last post came  in just as I was tying so thank you Shaun for the link.

Hi Shaun. I haven't been able to find David W Moody's death. I have tried using just an initial and also the name David. Various David Moodys have come up but not the one who died in 1870. What am I doing wrong?

Internet keeps knocking off so that isn't helping!

Got it now.  It might have helped if I had read your posting properly in the first place! Thankyou so much for your help.

While researching this I found details of Gertrude's divorce, death and burial and also David junior's burial. Also David in the same home as Gertrude in 1855. Let me know if there is any of this that you don't already have.
