I am trying to trace the family of John Hastings who was born in 1809 or thereabouts in Thornhill. He had a brother James and a father Willliam. William was a farmer.
John became a tea dealer/draper/commercial traveller and married Elizabeth Wadeson in Lincoln in 1840.
John died in Liverpool on 2 Nov 1875 but was buried at Thornhill.
The name Hewitson crops up several times in his family and I wonder whether William was married to a Hewitson?
Can anyone help find any information about him or his family?
